Constellar Hub - Features And Benefits

Key Product Features: Business Benefits
Advanced Hub & Spoke Architecture
Constellar Hub supports broad access to file and message formats ranging from comma-separated and COBOL-nested records, to multi-format files and XML. Relational data is supported via Oracle Gateways, ODBC drivers or DataMirror Transformation Server™ software. Data source extensibility allows data collection from mainframe formats such as VSAM and IMS.

Constellar Hub's single point of contact for all data sources facilitates rapid development and the maintainability of interfaces. The versatility of Constellar Hub's architecture supports simple-to-complex business rule logic, thereby reducing development efforts and catering to a wide range of business system interfacing requirements.
Common Business Rule Language & Reusable Code
Common business rule logic can be stored in libraries to facilitate the re-use of code for any transformation, while enabling complex transformations to be developed without the need for external code. Constellar Hub also allows flexible naming conventions for TDL variables and supports typed TDL variables.

Common business rule components provide ease of maintenance and administration, as customers can more effectively manage transformation rules and codes, and centralize frequently referenced business logic. Flexible naming conventions and typed variables help increase intuitiveness and ease of use for programmers, while reducing complexity and potential code errors.
Pre-Built Application Interface Support
Constellar Hub enables rapid integration with leading applications such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle and Erwin. A certified SAP/ALE connector interface allows for bi-directional exchange of Intermediate Documents (IDocs) with SAP R/3 systems.

Constellar Hub's pre-built adapters support most popular enterprise applications, eliminating the time-consuming need of hand-coding interfaces. Also, direct integration with leading enterprise resource planning applications enables superior system control.
FTP/HTTP Support
Data can be acquired directly from, or delivered to, a remote web application server using HTTP. Constellar Hub's FTP client allows remote source files to be brought directly into the Hub pipeline or delivered directly to a remote target without the need to create staged data files. FTP support reduces intermediate staged data storage requirements and processing latency.

Users can easily integrate back-office applications with web-based store fronts or e-Procurement systems. FTP support reduces intermediate staged data storage requirements and processing latency.
XML Schema Support
Constellar Hub provides an alternative option to importing from Document Type Definitions (DTDs). XML Schema support allows more information on attributes (i.e. data types) to be described.

XML Schema support allows Constellar Hub to be used in conjunction with XML-based initiatives. XML can both be read and written, and used in conjunction with message-based deployments using MQSeries or Oracle AQ. This support is beginning to be widely used within e-Commerce environments.
Integrated Messaging Support
Messaging support allows users to integrate external data sources including Oracle AQ, SAP, MQSeries, files, and ODBC into MQ and AQ queues, or vice versa, in any combination.

Support for popular messaging applications provides users with increased flexibility and a fully integrated infrastructure. Companies can leverage investments in existing infrastructure and messaging technologies.
Mapping and Configuration Wizards
The key configuration items needed for transactions can be set using a simple wizard. An operator can control, start, stop, monitor, and debug interfaces either individually or in groups, all from a single console.

The wizard enables the rapid and easy completion and deployment of transactions. Powerful scheduling that is based on time, event, or complex dependency is also supported to enhance productivity.
